Lyman E. Schacht, 75, Davis, Illinois, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born June 25, 1935 in St. Charles County, Minnesota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison and Emma (Ramien) Schacht. Lived 25 years in Davis, Illinois. Married the former Beverly (Bevy) Kahly in Rockton, Illinois on June 23, 1990. He was employed as a Millwright by Rockford Powertrain, where he retired after 25 years and then he worked at Thermos Corp in Freeport, Illinois. Veteran of the US Army 101st Airborne and 70th Engineer Battalion. He enjoyed fishing the trout streams of Minnesota and in his backyard, stained glass and playing Farmville and Cityville on Facebook. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife Bevy Schacht, Davis, Illinois; daughters Sherry Babb, Paducah, Kentucky, Vicki (Mike) Bates, Cherry Valley, Illinois, Becki (Bill Johnson) Story, Rockford, Illinois and Penni Bunnell, Cherry Valley, Illinois; sons Alan (Rodella) Schacht, Rockford, Illinois; Aaron (Pam) Schacht, Zionsville, Indiana and Lyman Thomas (Michelle) Schacht, Loves Park, Illinois; three step children Scott (fiancée Elizabeth Eissen) Cox, Durand, Illinois, Tim (Jody) Cox, Seward, Illinois and Tina (Steve) Hertig, Machesney Park, Illinois; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Gordy (Joan) Schacht, Goodview, Minnesota; sister Lorraine Nesler, Lawrenceville, Kansas and his best bud Raja. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ron Schacht on April 9, 2011, Conrad Schacht, Jerry Schacht and Herbert Schacht, sisters Iola and Velma and son-in-law Thomas Babb. \r\r\n\r\r\n Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Cremation rites will be accorded. \r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial has been established to the family.
