Margaret E. "Peggy" Myers, 85 of Pecatonica, IL, left her earthly body to be with our Lord and Savior at 9:50 p.m., Monday, December 16, 2019 at Freeport Memorial Hospital with Pastor Mark Gilmore from Pecatonica United Methodist Church at her side.\r\n\r\nShe was born April 24, 1934 in Sauk River, WA to the late Earl and Katie Barrington. She was employed as a kitchen worker with the Broward County school district until she retired and moved to Pecatonica. She was a member of Pecatonica Methodist Church and the Pecatonica Lion's club. She loved to crochet and shared her crocheted items with her friends and loved ones. She was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could and wherever it was needed. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her adult children and their spouses: Donald and Diane Speer of Pembroke Pines, FL, Janet Hogan of NC, Sandra and Charlie Secrest of Sweetwater TN, Shelby Myers of Orlando, FL, Tawn Myers and Shawn Myers of FL, John and Tonya Myers of TX, sister- in- law Vohnie Bailey of Pecatonica and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Claude Speer and Roger Myers, and children: Roxanna, Shannon, April and Tommy.\r\n\r\nCelebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2019 in Pecatonica United Methodist Church, 528 Washington Street, Pecatonica, IL with Pastor Mark Gilmore officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
