Marian Edith (Anderson) Norberg was born on November 22, 1925 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Marvin and Edith (Lundgren) Anderson who had two other children, Marvin W. and Kenneth. Marian attended Harlem High School and after graduation worked as a secretary, herlast position as a legal secretary. She met Gerald (Jerry) Norberg at the 1st Evangelical Free Church where they both attended. They were married there on January 14, 1944. In the early 40’s she worked at Amerock where Jerry worked and each day managed to get on the same elevator at the same time so they could see each other. \n\nThey had four children – a daughter Sally and three sons, Dan, Bob and a third son who died at birth. Her grandchildren include Trisha (Norberg) McGee, Eric Norberg, Marcy (Norberg) Soave, Michael Dirkson, Camie Ware, Christopher Haynes, Chad Norberg and Erin (Norberg) Finch. One great granddaughter, (Bobbie Jo Haynes), pre-deceased her. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. \n\nMarian loved being outdoors, especially in the summer working in her yard. She lovingly cared for her husband Jerry for many years before his passing in 2011.Together they loved their little dogs, Toby, Timmy and Teddy. Their travels were many and they\nespecially enjoyed the many winter months spent in Arizona and Florida. They took several cruises and spent a great vacation in Monte Carlo and were able to travel in Spain and France. Hawaii was a vacation favorite for Marian and she always wanted to go back again some day.\n\nA funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2023 at McCorkle Funeral Home - Pecatonica Chapel, 203 W. Fifth Street, Pecatonica, IL with Pastor Chuck Rife officiating. Marian’s final resting place is at Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery next to her loving husband Gerald.
