Marilyn Weaver, 81, Durand, Illinois died at 1:10 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009 at home after a short illness. \r\r\n\r\r\n Marilyn was one of identical twin daughters born to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Esther (Johnson) Raetz in Davis, Illinois on December 31, 1927. She married Lionel (Curly) Weaver on November 23, 1946. Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Durand United Methodist Church, the Anna/Mary Circle, 40+ year member of Decatur Lake Country Club and the Jolly 31 Club. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, golfing and in later years traveling about the USA, especially her trips to Branson, Washington D.C. and New York City. She graduated from Dakota High School, Dakota, Illinois. The family is grateful for the help of hospice and VNA and for the love and support of Marilyn’s many relatives and friends. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include sons Larry Weaver, McHenry, Illinois, Jerry (Darlene) Weaver, Rockton, Illinois and Don Weaver, Roscoe, Illinois; daughters Carolyn (Terry) Wise, Pecatonica, Illinois, Diane Weaver, Darlington, Wisconsin and Luann (Jim Sauer) Malcolm, Lake Summerset, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters Marian Wilkins, Savanna, Illinois, Gloria Yoder, Freeport, Illinois, Betty Drane, Stockton, Illinois, Lana Kahler, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Holly Miller, Oregon, Illinois; brother Gary Raetz, Rockford, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Lee Arthur, great grandsons Owen and Mitchell Moseley and sister Charlotte Downing. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2009 in Durand United Methodist Church, 102 E Main, Durand, Illinois with Pastor Henry Whang officiating. Burial will be in the Durand Cemetery, Durand, Illinois. McCorkle Funeral Home 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois assisted the family.
