Marion R. “Chris” Spencer, 83 of Rockton, IL died at 11:35 pm, Friday, April 3, 2015 in Fair Oaks Health Center after an extended illness. \r\r\n\r\r\n She was born January 10, 1932 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Alice (Everson) Christopher. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, Class of 1949 and attended Beloit College. She married Cyril G. Bryce on November 26, 1950; he died in February of 1979. Chris then married Richard F. Spencer in Rockton, IL on June 25, 1982. She was employed as a customer service representative by Peabody Wells of Roscoe, Dana Credit Union and Warner Brake and Clutch in South Beloit. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild; former member of Rockton Women’s Club, Rockton Garden Club, former Girl Scout leader and was very involved in the High School class reunion committee. She enjoyed the over 20 years at the cabin at Jordan Lake in Oxford, WI with family and friends on the pontoon boat, but spending time with her children and attending the sporting events and activities of the grandchildren was what Chris really enjoyed. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Fair Oaks Health Care and Visiting Nurses Association Hospice for their tender, loving and compassionate care given to Chris. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include: husband Richard Spencer; daughters Susan (Mario) Rallo; Kathy (Michael) Pfaff, Linda (Allen) Brandenburg; grandchildren: Joe (Darcy) Rallo, Tricia (Ryan) Brawner, Katrina (Joe) De La Torre, Chris Pfaff, Jacqui and Chad Brandenburg; great grandchildren Cole and Whitney Brawner; Ariel, Mickey and Max De La Torre, Alexys Schumaker; step children Kelly (Milo) Miller, Cyndi Hlavin, Daniel (Tami) Spencer, David (Jennifer) Spencer, Michael Spencer; step grandchildren Jordan Miller, Scott Hlavin, Kelsey Hendrickson, Lauren Hlavin, Rachael and Natalie Spencer and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, brother Russell Christopher and sister Doris Griep. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 10, 2015 in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 511 West Rockton Road Rockton, IL with Pastor Scott Herbert officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd,m Rockton, IL from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 9. \r\r\n\r\r\n In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church 511 W.
