Marvin D. Johnson, 87, Pecatonica, Illinois died at 7:40 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Wesley Willows.\r\r\n\r\r\n Born September 13, 1927 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Elma (Swigart) Johnson. Married the former Dolores J. Chadwick in Pecatonica, Illinois at First Congregational Church on September 6, 1947. He farmed and worked as a machinist for John S. Barnes, retiring in 1995. He was a member of First Congregational Church, Pecatonica, Illinois and A W Rawson Masonic Lodge AF & AM #145 in Pecatonica, Illinois.\r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife Dolores Johnson, Pecatonica, Illinois; sons Daniel (Susan) Johnson, Rockford, Illinois and Dean Johnson, Stillman Valley, Illinois; daughter Colleen (David) Remmers, Pecatonica, Illinois; grandchildren Lindsey (Michael) Kromm, Ryan (Erica) Johnson, Stephanie (Mitch) Farris, Sherri (Jeff) Kalmer, Sarah (fiancé Craig Burmeister) Johnson, Suzanne (Trevor) Deck, Cassandra Cox and Brian (fiancé Megan Leverenz) Cox; 10 great grandchildren; nephew Gary (Julie) Johnson and daughter-in-law Susan Johnson, Rockford, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Raymond.\r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015 in First Congregational Church, 633 Reed Street, Pecatonica, Illinois with Pastor Duane Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 4 with a Masonic service to be held at 6:45 p.m. McCorkle Funeral Home-Pecatonica Chapel, 203 W Fifth Street, Pecatonica, Illinois assisted the family.\r\r\n\r\r\n In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Congregational Church, Pecatonica, Illinois.
