Michael A. Butts, 62, of Roscoe, Illinois was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Michael was born on October 11, 1960, to Allen and Palma (Pagniano) Butts in Ashland, Ohio. Before high school, they moved from Ohio to Elgin, Illinois, where he attended Larkin High School. While attending Larkin, he met the love of his life, Dana. The two were married on August 7th, 1982.\n\nMichael was employed by Rockford Systems, where he worked as a salesman. He was an active member and former Elder at Hope Free Church in Roscoe, IL. Mike was a long-time member and executive of the Roscoe Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed sharing his love for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He loved taking long vacations with his wife in their camper. Mike had a passion for coaching his kids and grandkids in their various sports.\n\nMichael is survived by his wife, Dana; sons, Timothy (Rachel) Butts, Kyle (Molly) Butts, and Nathan (Erika) Butts; grandchildren, Owen, Abby, Halle and Levi; father Allen Butts; brother Steve (Jill) Butts, and many nieces and nephews.\n\nMichael was preceded in death by mother, Palma Butts, and brother, Tom Butts.\n\nA visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2023, at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Hope Church, 5656 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL, with a visitation held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Cremation rites were accorded, and final resting place will be Willowbrook Cemetery, Roscoe Township, IL.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Winnebago County Pheasants Forever. Donations will support their Youth Mentor Hunting Program to support Mike's passion for preserving the future of hunting and conservation.
