Myrtle J. Langkamp, 95, South Beloit, Illinois, died at 1:30 a.m., Sunday, December 19, 2010 in her own home surrounded by her family. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born August 18, 1915 in Cassville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Sarah Haas. Married Bernard F. Langkamp in January 1941. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, South Beloit, Illinois since 1950, where she was also a member of Legion of Mary and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also named Rockford Diocese Catholic Woman of the Year. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include daughters Mary Flanigan, Rockford, Illinois and Darlene (John) York, Dallas, Wisconsin; sons Mervin (Elaine) Langkamp, South Beloit, Illinois and Duane (Jean) Langkamp, Roscoe, Illinois; daughter Bernadette (Ronald) Bennett, Roscoe, Illinois; son Mark Langkamp, Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Patricia Flanigan; six brothers and three sisters. \r\r\n\r\r\n Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010 in St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, Illinois with Father Robert McClellan officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, Illinois. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 767 N Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, Illinois from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 22. A scripture service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday.
