Paul LeRoy Johnson, 90, Poplar Grove, IL died at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family.\r\n\r\nBorn May 15, 1926 in Belvidere, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Helga (Anderson) Johnson. He attended a one room school. He married the former June I. Gilliem in Woodstock, IL on June 29, 1957. He had farmed since he was a young boy in the Belvidere, Capron and Poplar Grove area where he milked cows, had crops, livestock and horses. Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the US Army.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include wife June Johnson; son Randall (Connie) Johnson; daughter Pauline Forrester; son Jamie Johnson; grandchildren Casey (Jeremy) Try, Mackensie Skye Forrester, Dawn (Tom) Cockerel and Shane (Becci) O’Rorke; great grandchildren Ashley Try, Jesse Try, Logan and Keegen Cockerel, Alexis and Caitlin O’Rorke; brother Floyd Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Colton Michael Forrester, son-n-law Michael Forrester, sister Helen Fisher and nephew Roy Janeway.\r\n\r\nGraveside ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Pinnacle Hill Cemetery, Roscoe, IL with Father Steven Sabo officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL assisted the family.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL 61080.
