Pauline Schmidt

–

Fort Collins, Colorado

Pauline Schmidt, born on February 28, 1941, in Vermillion, SD, USA, was a compassionate, dedicated, funny, and resilient woman. She led a life full of love, laughter, and immense strength. As the famous quote by William Arthur Ward goes, "The adventurous journey towards living a life of one's dreams is filled with the unexpected and unpredictable, but it is the resilient person who learns to manage and even dance with the unpredictability of life." Pauline danced through life with grace and resilience, embracing the unpredictable with a smile on her face and a deck of cards or a slot machine lever in her hand.

Pauline led a fulfilling life filled with laughter, love, and adventure. A dedicated employee, she retired from Pacemaker in Belvidere, IL, and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where she spent her retirement years with family. She loved traveling around the country to watch her grandchildren play hockey and always found a way to make any situation funny, filling the room with her infectious laughter. She was also known for her love of the game Phase 10, her affinity for the slots, and her deep love for animals, especially dogs and horses. Her life was beautifully woven with threads of compassion, as seen by her generous spirit and caring heart. Family was the cornerstone of Pauline's life, her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Gundry; her son-in-law, Bill Gundry; her granddaughter, Alli Gundry; and her grandson, Ben Gundry and his wife, Katelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Bessie Daniels; her husband, Stephen Schmidt; her sisters, Betty Peterson, Dolores Anderson, Darliene Stiegelmeyer, and Rozella Glomski; and her brother, Lowell Daniels. A graveside ceremony will be held for Pauline Schmidt on Saturday, 12 Oct 2024 at 11:00am CDT at the Rockton Township Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Rockton, Illinois, 61072.
