Radislava Zaluda, 95, Durand, IL died at 8:40 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2019 at home.\r\n\r\nBorn on September 22, 1923 in what is now the Czech Republic, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil and Anne (Horak) Emingerova. During WW II she survived the German occupation, as well as numerous air raids. Radislava married Karel Zaluda during WW II and had two children. She escaped communism with her family, arriving in the United States in 1966. She resided in the Chicago area until moving to Davis in 2018. She enjoyed gardening and pampering her little dog, Masa. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her children Jan K. Zaluda, California and Daniela Zaluda (Dennis) Johnson, Durand, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Karel in 1977.\r\n\r\nPrivate services will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded with final resting place to be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Durand, IL.\r\n\r\nMcCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL assisted the family.
