Ramona Joan Cofoid, long-time resident of Rockton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Joan was born on December 5, 1936 in Granville, IL.\n\nJoan was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She worked several years as a baby-sitter for many children that she treated as her own. Later on, she worked for Frito Lay and the Rockton bus company. Joan’s love for animals, especially her dogs and kitty, made her one of a kind. She had a way of radiating a room with positivity and constant smiles, but was no stranger to discipline, having raised four boys.\n\nJoan is survived by sons, Michael (Sandy) Cofoid and Steven (Terri) Cofoid; brother, Charles Robinson; grandchildren, Erin, Adam, Kirsten, Ben, Greg, and Brooke; and great-grandchildren, Adelynn, Ashlynn, and Greg Jr.\n\nShe is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Ramona Robinson; brother, Fred Robinson; sister-in-law, Linda Robinson; sons Greg and Gary Cofoid; and grandson Brian Cofoid.\n\nA funeral ceremony following COVID-19 requirements of social distancing and wearing of masks will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Herman officiating. A walk-through visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
