Ray Edwin Schauer, 93, of Pecatonica, IL died at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in his home.\r\n\r\nBorn December 22, 1924 in Pecatonica, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Gladys (Hiteman) Schauer. Attended Pecatonica District Schools. Married the former Dawn E. Tarbert in Pecatonica, IL on November 3, 1953. Dawn died on June 22, 1982. He then married Maxine Miller in Pecatonica, IL in April 1984. Ray was a mechanical assembler for Greenlee Brothers, retiring in 1987. He worked in Michigan, Ohio and traveled to France. He golfed at Windy Acres, enjoyed mowing his yard and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his wife Maxine Schauer; daughter Sidney Farr; sons Bill (Jennifer) Schauer and Stan Schauer; grandchildren Jennifer (Kyle) Boomer, Angela (Lee) Hospelhorn, Jamie Farr, Jessica (Stephen) Brown, Tyler, Tanner and Taren Bloomer, Lyndsie (Brett) Schwebke, Julia (Kevin) Begaye and Katie (Ryan) North; 13 great grandchildren; sister Dorothy Hebing; brother Lee “Pat” Schauer; son-in-law Randy Bloomer; daughter-in-law Charlotte (Alan) Abanes; two step children Ron (Jan) Miller and John (Cindy) Miller; six step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Susan Bloomer, brother Dale Schauer and sister Marian Lackey.\r\n\r\nPrivate ceremonies will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded with final resting place to be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica, IL.
