Remigeo “Ray” Piccioli, 82, Lake Summerset, IL, formerly of Chicago, died at 9:23 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in The Monroe Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.\r\n\r\nBorn August 11, 1934 in Chicago, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Jennie (Ramazzini) Piccioli. Married the former Elizabeth “Betty” Ramburg in Chicago, IL on November 30, 1957. He was a graduate from the first graduating class of Washburn Trade School and completed an apprenticeship to become a licensed plumber. He owned and operated Power Plumbing in Chicago, retiring in 1997. Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the US Army. He was a member of the Durand American Legion Gold Star Post #676, Lake Summerset Bocce Ball Club, where he served as president for over 14 years and Sons of Italy Foundation.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include daughter Rae Lynn Piccioli; son Joseph (Susan) Piccioli; daughter Robin Vizza; seven grandchildren Kristen (Paul) Fredericy, Stephanie (Robert Guzman) Zak, Julie (Jason) Singer, Angela Kissel, Nicole White, Robert Vizza and Raymond (Melissa) Vizza; five great grandchildren Scarlett, Frankie, Damian, Sarah and Joey; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Wally Raduns. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Florence Jacobs.\r\n\r\nFuneral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 602 West Main Street, Durand, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL from 4:00 -8:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, with a scripture service to be held at 8:00 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the funeral mass.
