Renee L. Heckman, 57, Pecatonica, IL loving mom and grandma passed peacefully in her home after a brief illness on Monday, June 20, 2016.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Born August 13, 1958 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent and Julie (Holst) Burns. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n She was a life-long resident of Pecatonica, coming here from Rockford. Graduated from Pecatonica High School, Class of 1976. Renee’s first job in life was being a mother. She retired from UPS in Rockford in 2014 where she had worked as a supervisor. Renee’s family was very important to her. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n She loved being outside with her flowers and gardening, a love that she shared with her mother and sisters. She enjoyed spending time at the lake, crafting, baking and most all, spending time with her two beautiful granddaughters, Ashlynn and Kentley. Renee loved life and expressed it through her beautiful smile.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Survivors include life-long companion, John Pehl, Pecatonica, IL; daughter, Tonya (David Holman) Heckman, Pecatonica, IL; sons, Tadd Heckman and Anthony (Oliva Barr) Pehl, both of Pecatonica, IL; mother, Julie Burns, Machesney Park, IL; sister, Roxanne (Roger) Harshbarger, Beloit, WI; granddaughters, Ashlynn and Kentley Heckman; nephew, Michael (Allison) Harshbarger and other numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Kent Burns, brother Rick Burns and nephew Justin Harshbarger.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Memorial ceremonies will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington Street, Pecatonica, IL with Chaplin Mark Maxted of Beloit Regional Hospice officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 to time of service Friday. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be at a later date in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica, IL.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A memorial will be established.
