11 Memories preserved

I met Richard Cassidy when I was 12 and we were in middle school at Morse Kennedy in Rockford Illinois. We became better friends after high school. We would go to Main Street in Beloit, Wisconsin and have a ball he was a great dancer. He moved Arizona where Tim and I and a lot of other ex-Rockfordians were Dawn soon followed . We became very good friends really like family since none of us had family in AZ. We would get together for Easter’s, Thanksgivings and pool parties. We were the immediate support systems for births of our children working on our houses etc. Rich knew how to make everyone have fun. One of my best memories was in Kishwaukee Park but we were seniors in high school it was the first nice day of spring. All of a sudden here comes Rich. He had a barrel beer on one shoulder and the tapper in the other and he was singing “Here Comes The Sun. After a while, somebody said the police were coming, and everybody started to scatter. But I was. the only girl having a car So I had to stay Rich talked to her and they let go. That’s the t kind of friend Rich was

What is Rich’s legacy?

"He took the adversity from his childhood and turned it into a mission to make sure his wife, daughter and two sons never knew one ounce of that struggle. He worked tirelessly to provide his wife the luxury of being a stay at home mom, his children never once went without anything they needed, his kids went to college, his grand daughter got all the love and presents she could handle. He worked his whole life to make ours great and he deserved more time to enjoy his retirement."

Light a Candle for Rich

Checking my deer cameras at my mom and Terry’s to see Rich had taken a walk-about and found them… leaving me with a couple interesting pictures… I’ll see if I can dig them up on my old hard drives. I do believe the Bears beat the Packers that weekend too… Rich will be truly missed. ~ Brian
