Richard C. "Dick" Gleed, 80, of Rockton, IL passed peacefully at 6:40 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019 in his home.\r\n\r\nDick was born July 22, 1939 in Haverhill, MA, son of Rudolph C. and Helen Gleed. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts, he attended Navy Officers Candidate School and was then stationed in Norfolk, VA where he met and later married Brenda L. Wideman. Together they had 3 children, daughter Kim (Pat) Ketterhagen of Waterford, WI; son Phil (Lori) Gleed of Cedarburg, WI; and son Ken (Tiffany) Gleed of Evansville, WI. He leaves behind six grandchildren of whom he was so proud and eager to share stories and pictures: Maddie, Emma, Samantha and Sarah Gleed of Cedarburg, WI; Porter and Kenneth Gleed of Evansville, WI. \r\n\r\nDick was a Mason of 65 years, including Past Master of the Morning Star Lodge in Beloit. He was also an active member of the Zor Shrine Pipes and Drums of Madison. He worked for such companies as Sealtest, Carnation, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Dairy Equipment Company in Madison and Electrol Specialties in South Beloit. After retiring from Electrol Specialties, he drove a school bus for First Student for 10 years. He enjoyed that time so much! We will truly miss him. \r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, sister Midge Carleton and brother-in-law Ladd Carleton. \r\n\r\nVisitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Old Stone Church, 101 E.
