Richard McArdle

Richard C. McArdle, Rockton, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Born December 20, 1933 in Darlington, WI. The son of Thomas and Catherine (McGowan) McArdle. Graduated from Monroe High School. Played football for UW Platteville for two years. Proudly served in the United States Army 2 years. Married Barbara Lee Polzin in Las Vegas, NV on May 28, 1960. He was employed by O'Donnell's, Elkhorn, WI, hauling milk, Overnight Motor Service, Rockford, IL, and founded RBR Trucking, retiring in 2011.

He is survived by his son, George Liebl, daughter, Cynthia Liebl Olson, son, Robert (Dyan) McArdle, two grandchildren, Zak (Erin) McArdle, Josh (Leah) McArdle, and three great-grandchildren, Maeve, Reilly, and Mason. Sister, Lanny Boardman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; five siblings, Tommy, Bill, Teenie, Kay and Ed; and son-in-law, Roy.

Memorial ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2024 at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until time of service. Luncheon at 12:30, the American Legion, 221 W. Main Street, Rockton.
