Richard (Ric) Allen Stukenberg, 65, of Leaf River, IL and formally of Chicago, IL passed away at home following a long illness at 11:55 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2017.\r\n\r\nRic was born on September 6, 1951 in Belvidere, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis L. and Norma Ruth Stukenberg. He attended Cook Elementary and Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Chicago, IL. He was employed at the Sertoma Workshop in Alsip, IL. He was a member of the Beverly Ridge Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in 1998. Ric was a life-long Chicago White Sox fan and a follower of the Bears and Bulls. He enjoyed CB radio, Braille board and card games, trivia, music and talk radio. Ric was a loving, considerate person who faced many hardships in life and Never complained. \r\n\r\nSurvivors include his brother Dennis (Deb) Stukenberg and sister Nancy (Marty) Stukenberg, both of Leaf River, IL; sister Sandra (Randall) Wehrmeister of Forreston, IL and niece Minka (Tyler) Graybael of Tennessee. \r\n\r\nPrivate ceremonies will be held. Final resting place will be in Adeline Cemetery, Leaf River, IL.
