Richard Romaine Satterfield

Richard Romaine Satterfield, 79, of Ft. Collins, Colorado died at 6:30 a.m., Thursday, November 08, 2012 in his home after a lengthy illness. Born May 24, 1933 in Polo, Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard and Margaret (Davidson) Satterfield. He married the former Donna Burke in Mt. Morris, Illinois on October 19, 1957. Richard farmed in his early years and was retired from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in 1974 and then was employed by Consolidated Freight for 22 years . Richard enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a graduate of Mt. Morris Schools class of 1951.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Ft. Collins, Colorado; daughters, Debbie Navaro of Denver, Colorado, and Sue (Bill) Sweet of Durand, Illinois; son, Doug Satterfield of Liberty, Missouri; grandchildren, LeAnna Romero, Raul Villa, Jason, Kevin and Bob Sweet; great grandchildren, Cherish, Diamond, Jonah, and Nico; brothers, Jerry (Shirley) Satterfield, Roger Satterfield, and Marvin (Cheryl) Satterfield; sister-in-law, Barb Satterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.

Private ceremonies to be held. Final resting place will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, Illinois. Cremation rites were accorded. McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois assisted the family.
