Richard Schmidt

Richard Carl Schmidt from Elgin, IL went up to heaven on February 6, 2023. Up there waiting were his parents, Richard Herbert and Harriette, along with his sister, Judy. His sister Linda currently resides in France.
Rick had many nicknames, but Papa was his favorite. His two daughters - Jennifer and Erica (Jason Noto) and their children, (2) Alex, (1) Addison, (2) Mateo and (2) Dustin were the loves of his life.
He enjoyed going to his grandsons' sports games, reminiscing about the good old days, playing card games and board games and listening to his classic rock and country albums when he was not watching his old western TV shows, game shows or any sports games on TV. He loved talking shop about cars and his pets (past and present). He always had fun visiting with his cousins when he could. Hanging out with their families was always a good time.
A committal funeral service is scheduled for March 10, 2023, 12 noon at Durand Cemetery. 15613 Durand Rd, Durand, IL 61024.
