Rick Correnti

–

Rockton, Illinois

Rick Alan Correnti, 77, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully February 24th, 2026, in his home in Rockton. Born November 24th, 1948, to Simon and Geraldine Correnti in Rockford, IL. Rick graduated from Boylan High School and married Janice (Frisella) Correnti on April 21st, 1978. Rick also served his country as a member of the United States National Guard.

Rick led a life filled with laughter and love. He truly enjoyed spending his time with family and friends, showing support to all of those in need. Armed with a witty personality and strong sense of humor, Rick proved to be a great example to family and friends in how to live life by sharing an easy-going nature and kindness in those he met. Rick began his professional career at Commonwealth Edison in 1969 and worked over 35 years, serving mostly as an Electrical Engineer before retiring in 2005. Rick and his co-workers remained close over the years, gathering for annual holiday festivities and sharing stories and laughs that made every visit a special occasion.

While Rick enjoyed spending time with friends, he loved nothing more than sharing memories with his family. Rick loved taking annual family vacations to Wisconsin, where his infectious personality shined brightest. As Rick watched his children grow, he continued to be a dependable force in his family’s life when he became a grandfather to Aidan and Samuel. Rick was always there in times of need, whether it was shuttling Aidan to football practice or engaging in a spirited game of driveway basketball with Sam, Rick always believed family comes first.

Rick is survived by his wife, Janice; children Shana Peters, Marc (Amy) Correnti, and Allison (Tom) Hawkins; brother, Jim (Carol) Correnti; as well as his grandchildren Aidan, Samuel, McKenna, Cameron and Caden. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Dan Correnti.

The Correnti family would like to give a special thanks to Mercy Hospice nurses, Amy, Hannah, Ramona and Mitchell; and caregiver Jessica Cunningham from Visiting Angels. They were a great source of comfort for Janice, as they continuously displayed kindness, empathy, and an understanding that proved vital in helping the family navigate Rick’s final days.

There will be no services and cremation rites were accorded.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mercy Hospice in appreciation for their care and services for Rick.
