Robert Berg

Robert A. Berg, 76, of Soldiers Grove, WI, formerly of Durand, IL, died 8:45 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He was born May 4, 1946 in Rockford, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. and Doris M. (Geddes) Berg. He graduated from Durand High School in 1964. He was a Vietnam era veteran, serving two years in the U. S. Navy. Bob married Linda Geiser in Durand, IL on December 13, 1969. They were divorced on February 9, 1990. Bob was employed by Byron Nuclear Plant as a welder fabricator and achieved Journeyman level following five years apprenticeship in plumbing/pipefitting. Bob enjoyed hunting, riflery, and camping. Survivors include: daughter Leslie (Kyle) Jensen; sons Brian Berg and Nathan (Jessica) Berg; seven grandchildren; sister April (Jan) Van Rens; brother Gary (Elaine) Berg; sister Trina (Arnie) Ames; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Douglas Berg.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2023 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel at 101 Main St., Durand, IL. Pastor David Myers will be officiating. Burial in Howard Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time of ceremony, Monday.
