Robert “Bob” Charles Davies
Rockton, Illinois –
Robert “Bob” Charles Davies, of Rockton, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, Bob spent his life rooted in the values of hard work, loyalty, and love for family. A skilled welder by trade and a natural handyman, Bob was always looking for something to fix — and was the first person anyone called when they needed a helping hand. He was the kind of man who would show up before you even asked, quietly doing what needed to be done.
Bob was the rock of his family — steady, dependable, and always there when you needed him. Whether it was fixing a leaky pipe, lending a listening ear, or simply being present, Bob made the people closest to him feel safe and supported just by being himself.
He was the proud father of Susan Davies, Shawn Davies (wife Coleen), and Shannon Davies, and a beloved grandfather to Nicole Schreiber, Noah Schreiber, Devin Davies, Erin Davies, Sean Patrick Davies, and Iain Davies. Bob found his greatest joy in the time he spent with his family — whether gathered around the table, grilling in the backyard, or cheering on his favorite teams.
A true animal lover, Bob shared a deep bond with his own dogs over the years, including Judd and Khan, who brought him years of companionship and unconditional love. He also adored the family’s dogs — Rosie, who held a special place in the family’s heart, and Addison, whom he cared for often and loved like his own.
Bob loved the simple pleasures in life: a good boat ride on a sunny day, the peaceful rhythm of gardening, and the comfort of a grilled meal shared with loved ones. He had a deep appreciation for history and a quiet pride in his country — a true lover of America in both its story and its spirit.
He was also an avid NASCAR fan, a devoted supporter of the Chicago Bears, and never missed an Alabama football game.
Above all, Bob will be remembered as a reliable, caring soul — someone who put his loved ones first, offered help without hesitation, and never sought recognition for the good he did. His quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Bob by spending time with the ones you love — just as he would have wanted.
