Rod E. Gladfelder Obituary (1953

Rod E. Gladfelder, 62, of Durand, Illinois died at 1:49 a.m., Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Rod was born November 3, 1953 in Rockford, Illinois the son of Russell and June (Peterson) Gladfelder. He graduated from Guildford High School class of 1971. Rod married the former Barbara J. Brockman in Loves Park, Illinois on October 11, 1975. He was employed as an operating engineer for William Charles, retiring in August 2012 and was a member of Operating Engineer Local 150. Rod enjoyed the rural life and all things John Deere. Survivors include wife, Barbara Gladfelder and son, Joe (Danielle) Gladfelder. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, Illinois with Dan Herman officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 o 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 29. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West Street, Rockton, Illinois. A memorial will be established.
