Rodney J. Mathias

Rodney J. Mathias, 65, Pecatonica, IL died at 11:18 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Mercy Health System after a brief illness.

Born January 1, 1952 in Sterling, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. and Marjorie I. (Jurkens) Mathias. He married the former Dolly M. Kuecker. He retired from United Technologies. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Boy Scouts, Stephenson Society of Model Trainsmen and was a Red Cross instructor.

Survivors include his wife Dolly Mathias; daughters Trisha Mathias and Sarah (Griffin) Eckert; six grandchildren and mother Marjorie Mathias. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald.

Memorial ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 in First Lutheran Church, 218 East 6th Street, Pecatonica, IL with Pastor Nord Swanstrom officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of ceremonies Saturday. Cremation rites will be accorded. McCorkle Funeral Home-Pecatonica Chapel, 203 W Fifth Street, Pecatonica, IL assisted the family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
