Roger D. Willer, 75, Lake Summerset, Illinois, died at 7:25 a.m., Tuesday, February 03, 2009 in his home surrounded by his family. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born June 2, 1933 in Tama, Iowa the son of Mr. and Mrs. August and Johanna (Frahm) Willer. Married the former Sharilyn V. Cooper in Iowa City, Iowa on August 11, 1963. He was employed as a high school teacher, teaching vocational/technical subjects in Roselle, Wheeling, Rolling Meadows and part-time at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois retiring in 1994. Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army from 1953 – 1955. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, church council and was a noodle maker extraordinaire; American Legion Gold Star Post #676; Illinois Retired Teachers Association; Lake Summerset’s Square Dance Club, Bocce Club and Fish Club. Received a B.A. degree from Iowa State Teachers College and a M.A. from Northern Illinois University. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife Shari Willer, Lake Summerset; son Steven (Mayumi) Willer, Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughters Stephanie (Ralph) Mork, Madison, Wisconsin and Stacey (David) Berk, Waupaca, Wisconsin; three grandchildren Kaitlin and Kelly Mork and Natalie Berk; sisters Ethel Clark, Whitesboro, New York and Elaine Lenhart, Tama, Iowa; brother Marvin (Bernice) Willer, Tama, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009 in Trinity Lutheran Church, 15585 Durand Road, Durand, Illinois with Reverend R. Lee Bennight officiating. Cremation rites to be accorded. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 6. \r\r\n\r\r\n Memorials have been established to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Schaumburg, Illinois.
