Ronald D. Uzelac, the son of Daniel D. and Kathryn Uzelac, born October 14, 1941 in Gary, IN, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at his home in Lake Summerset, Davis, IL. He was 74.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n In his early years, Ron was an avid reader, scuba diver, and fisherman. He served in the U.S. Army and took an interest in WWII history, genealogy, and world religions. He also umpired both AA and AAA baseball and worked for many years at Illinois Bell. In his later years, Ron earned his degree in Psychology, enabling him to work at Streamwood Behavioral Health Clinic, and later retired as a Winnebago County Probation Officer. Ron had a wonderful sense of humor and was eager to laugh. He enjoyed trivia, was a superb dancer, loved his family and friends, and enjoyed spending time with his beloved vizsla, Kody. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n He is survived by his fiancée, Cathy Mackenzie; her children, Jeremy, Kevin, and Mary (Michael) Swafford; his daughters, Kathy (Jeff) Faucher and Danielle (Renato) De Luca; and his three grandsons: Mason Michael, Logan Daniel, and Massimo Pietro. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Lodge in Lake Summerset, 1202 Lake Summerset Road, Davis, IL, with Pastor Dan Herman of Old Stone Church, Rockton, IL officiating. Please enter at the main gatehouse on Best Road. Visitation will be held at the Lodge from 3:00 p.m. until time of service Monday. Cremation rites will be accorded.
