Ronald D. Webb, 67, Pecatonica, IL passed away at 9:36 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2017 surrounded by his family. \r\n\r\nHe was born November 20, 1949 in Chicago, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Delores (Jernas) Webb. He spent his youth in Knox, Indiana and Lansing, Illinois. Ron married Deb Fye Vowles in Freeport, IL in 1989. In 1971 he graduated from the School of Business at University of Illinois. He became a menswear buyer for Marshall Fields Chicago Flagship Store. At Rockwell International, Rockford, IL he was the Human Resource Director. In the mid-80's Ron joined Newell Companies as Vice-President of Human Resources at Freeport, IL and Lancaster, OH. Upon returning to Illinois, the family moved to Pecatonica and Ron earned his Masters in Elementary Education at Rockford College and taught for several years. He was a member of Freeport Mennonite Church in Freeport. In his younger years, Ron enjoyed many hobbies including competitive swimming, scuba diving, golf, fly-fishing, skiing, camping, and traveling. In his retirement, he loved spending time with his ever-growing family, cooking, and tending to his vineyard. Ron dedicated his life to serving God and his family.\r\n\r\nRon is survived by his wife Deb; their children Alisha (Eric) Lizer, Marci (Tim) Mosher, Carrie Lynn and Michael Webb; grandchildren Logan, Nathaniel, and Jacob Smith, Harmony, Josiah, Faith, Zachariah, Hope, and Nehemiah Mosher; siblings William (Mary) Webb, Thomas (Patti) Webb, Laura (Brian) Kivi and other family members. Ron was preceded in death by his parents.\r\n\r\nFuneral ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Freeport Mennonite Church, 3416 E Brick School Road, Freeport, IL with Pastor David Schrader officiating. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home-Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington, Pecatonica, IL from 5:00 -8:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2017. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Freeport, IL.
