Ronald Earl Wood

Ronald Earl Wood, 75, of Rockton, Illinois died at 2:12 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2011 in Rockford Memorial Hospital from a sudden illness.

Born December 16, 1935 in Rockford to Ingrid Prindle. Life-long resident of the South Beloit and Rockton area. Married the former Lucille Disrud in June of 1961. Employed as a supervisor for BVR Aerospace for 32 years. Served as a Sergeant for the National Guard. Graduate of South Beloit High School, Class of 1953. He enjoyed playing pool, golf, bowling and darts.

Survivors include, sons, Gary Wood of Rockton,IL,

Shawn (Tammy) Wood of Beloit, WI; daughter Julie Clark of South Beloit, IL; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Ingrid Prindle; foster parents Herb and Ruth Peters; daughter Lori Dodge; brothers, Bob, Geri, and Jim; sister, Marilyn, and son–in – law Daniel Clark.

Funeral ceremonies will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011

in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton,Illinois with Rev. Dave Meding of Central Christian Church, Beloit, Wisconsin officiating. Burial in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 835 Dearborn Ave., South Beloit. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to the time of service Thursday.
