Rory Dean Bradford, 70, Lake Summerset, IL died at 2:19 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 in UW Hospital, Madison, after a lengthy illness.\r\n\r\nBorn September 20, 1948 in Rockford, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orlie V. and Dorothy Gene (Fischbach) Bradford. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1967 and attended Rock Valley College. Married the former Sharon K. Woodkey in Rockton, IL on June 6, 1985. He was employed in the maintenance departments at Associated Bank and Piggly Wiggly in Brodhead. He also did landscaping and snowplowing. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Army as a medic from August 17, 1970 to August 16, 1973 reaching the rank of Specialist 5. He was a member of Harrison Bible Baptist Church in Harrison, IL and American Legion Gold Star Post #676 in Durand, IL.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his wife Sharon Bradford; son Ryan (Angel) Bradford; five grandchildren; brothers Gerald W. (Hazel) and Brian; sister-in-law Louise and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roc V. Bradford.\r\n\r\nMemorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Harrison Bible Baptist Church, 11878 Genesee Street, Harrison, IL. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded.\r\n\r\nAnyone wanting flowers delivered, may have them delivered to church between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 16.
