Ruth C. (Burton) Dillet, 90, of Rockton, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 5:40 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Highview in the Woodlands. \r\n\r\nShe was born April 18, 1928 in South Beloit, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Augusta (Oldenburg) Burton. Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Hononegah Community High School of Rockton, Illinois, and a 1945 graduate of Rockford Beauty School of Cosmetology. She married Carroll (Jack) Dillet on February 5, 1949 at the Old Stone Church in Rockton, Illinois. \r\n\r\nRuth and Jack farmed most of their lives around the Rockton area. For a number of years, Ruth worked as a beautician out of her home in Rockton. Ruth and Jack were the owners of Rockton Grain and Supply for 43 years. She was a member of the Old Stone Church. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin and travelling to Florida. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and dancing. Throughout her life she had a great appreciation and talent for music whether it be singing or playing the piano. Ruth was a friendly, caring, and loving person, always concerned about others. \r\n\r\nSurvivors include son Brad (Susan) Dillet: grandson: Chad Dillet all of Rockton: sister Shirley Einarsson of Washington: several nieces and nephews. \r\nPreceded by parents, husband Jack, March 21, 2012, sisters Helen (Harold) Guetschow, Cora (Harley) Higgins, Mabel (Warby) Beaumont, Nell (Marty) Martinez: brother-in-law Gosta Einarsson.\r\n\r\nMemorial Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Old Stone Church, 101 East Union Street, Rockton, IL with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 31. \r\n\r\nA memorial has been established to Old Stone Church, Old Stone Church, 101 East Union Street, Rockton, IL.
