Sandra Steele

Sandra L. Steele, age 76 of Davis/ Pecatonica, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, April 19, 2024. She was born August 20, 1947 in Hobart, Indiana the daughter of David and Patricia (Moon) Barnes and sister of David Barnes, Jr. Sandra married Thomas J. Steele in Davis, IL on October 11, 1997.

Sandra owned and operated Parc Health Club in Pecatonica, the Tighten and Tone Exercise locations in the area and later worked at U.S. Bank for several years and volunteered at the Pecatonica Food Pantry. All who knew Sandra will fondly remember the magnetic personality she possessed. Sandra had many passions in life and shared them with family and friends. She will fondly be remembered for her love of reading, traveling and gardening. In quite times she could be found outside sitting on the deck. Family was important to her as she adored her grandchildren, loved all her pets, clients and friends.

Sandra will be loved and missed by her husband, Thomas J. Steele; daughter, Whitney (Jeff) Miller of Atlanta GA; son, Jay Stankiewicz of Eden Prairie, MN; sisters, Margo Barnes of Tucson, AZ and Barb Getty of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren, Zachary (Rochelle) McMiller of Madison, WI, Hannah (Charles) Jones of Atlanta, GA and Emerson Stankiewicz; great granddaughter, Evergreen McMiller; other relatives, clients and many near and dear friends.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the McCorkle Funeral Home- Pecatonica Chapel 203 W. Fifth Street, Pecatonica, IL. from 12:00 Noon until the time of the funeral ceremony at 3:00 P.M. Following the funeral ceremony, all are invited to join the family at the American Legion for a time of fellowship.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to Wounded Warriors, Shriners Hospital, St. Jude or the charity of your choice.
