Sarah L. Light, 92, of Lake Worth, Florida, formerly of Rockton, IL, died 8:20 pm, Sunday, December 7, 2014 in her home after a brief illness. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born September 23, 1922 in Marcia, New Mexico, the daughter of Franklin Wood and Ruby Lela (Nimmo) Jones. Sarah grew up in Carmel, California. Married Rex H. Light in 1941, and had two daughters. She and Rex worked the family farm for over 35 years. She was a member of Shirland United Methodist Church for 63 years, and had her own pew. She was a long time member of Harrison Homemakers and Macktown Women’s Golf League. She enjoyed playing golf, and was proud of the time she made a hole in one in Florida, in 1977. She also enjoyed playing bridge, baking, and loved her family, grandkids, and great grandkids. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include daughters Barbara Hiepler of Loves Park and Linda (Dennis) Damon, South Beloit; grandchildren, Lisa (Glenn) Conard, Todd (Kristen) Hiepler, Robin (Joe) Schofield, Kris Pennington, Amy (Bill) Morris, Kari (Patrick) Rule, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, and sister. \r\r\n\r\r\n Memorial Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Shirland United Methodist Church, with Reverend Mark Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held in the church from 9:30am until the funeral on Thursday. Cremation Rites to be accorded.
