Shirley Rae Drummond, 84, Rockton, Illinois, died 11:55 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Beloit Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born May 2, 1924 in Shirland, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. and Florence (Black) Roth. She was married to Robert Drummond in Pick Wick, Minnesota on December 5, 1945. She was employed in the accounting department at Taylor Freezer for 13 years. She was a long time employee of Rockton Agency located on Main Street in Rockton. She was a member of the Old Stone United Church of Christ, Women’s Club, DUO Decem, Guild Dorcas, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She graduated from Hononegah High School, Class of 1942. \r\r\n\r\r\n She is survived by son Thomas E. Drummond; daughters Cyndie (Lori) Hoiberg, Becky(John) Starks; grandchildren Stephanie (Nick) Pierson, Julie Drummond, Jacquelyn Starks, Jill Drummond, Erin (Russell) Tollefsen, Shawn Starks, D. J. Hoiberg, Wesley Starks and Sabryna Starks; great-grand children Nicholas Robert Pierson, Natalya Rae Starks and Isabella Pierson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Berna Christensen and Ramona Wasco. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 am., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in the Old Stone United Church of Christ, 101 East Union, Rockton, Illinois with Reverend Dan Herman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West Street, Rockton, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at McCorkle Funeral Home in Rockton, Illinois, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd.
