Steve Faust Tarrant, 72, of Rockton passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 4:37 p.m. at Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit, WI.\n\nSteve was born on August 27, 1948 in Rockford IL the son of Willard and Willa Jean (Faust) Tarrant. He attended Hononegah High School while he farmed for FFA and graduated in 1968. Steve married his high school sweetheart June Parr on October 4th, 1969. Steve was proud to be a lifetime member of the Old Stone Church and enjoyed sharing the history of it to many people. \n\nThroughout his lifetime, his hobbies included snowmobiling, snowshoeing, shooting and fishing. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his wood shop making bird feeders, bird houses, Christmas trees, sleds and many gag gifts for friends and family. In later years, Steve worked many hours on his train board display that quickly grew and grew.\n\nHe loved all of his dogs and mother nature with a great appreciation of his ancestors Native American descent. But more than anything, Steve loved being with his family and friends. \n \nHe is survived by his daughter, Andrea Mueller (Taylor) of Juda, WI, and son, Jessie Tarrant (Laura) of Rockton, IL.; granddaughters Madelynn Mueller and Audree Tarrant; brother Joe Schnide of St. Paul, MN; and his loving dog, Noel.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Willa Jean, grandparents Adolph and Floy Faust, step dad Peter Schnide, and brother Thom Schnide. \n\nA funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with Pastor Robert Wang of United Church of Christ Old Stone Church officiating.\nBurial will be in Owen Center Township Cemetery.\nA visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday and all are welcome.
