Steven "Guner" Gundry

Steven R. "Guner" Gundry, 67, of Shirland, IL died Tuesday, November 29th at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.

He was born on December 1, 1954 in Beloit, WI the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. and Judith A. (Neudorff) Gundry. Steve graduated from Hononegah High School class of 1973. Married to Bonnie L. Bennett in Shirland, IL on July 12, 1975. He retired from Wonder Bread as a route salesman in November 2012. He then worked for Randy Fleming Heating and Cooling for over 3 years. Guner was a 4H Leader for many years. Volunteer member of the Shirland Fire Department for over 20 years. Guner had a passion for farming and enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed watching car racing and cheering for the Chicago Bears. He loved his family and enjoyed attending all the sporting events, livestock shows, and going camping.

Survivors include wife Bonnie, daughters Anna (Davin) Ganhs, Stephanie (Adam) Smith; grandchildren Aubrey, Ashton, Mason and Bryson; sisters Christine (Scott) Nagel, Peggy Foster numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in McCorkle Funeral Home- Rockton Chapel 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Burial will be in Shirland Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m., Monday.
