On July 13, 1960, in Green Bay, WI, a unique soul, Steven Phillip Schrank, was born. He spent his 63 years on this Earth embodying kindness, resilience, and an unwavering joy-filled spirit that touched everyone who knew him. It is with heavy hearts that we announce Steven's passing on February 2, 2024, where he was a resident of Lake Summerset Community in Davis, Illinois. Although MS ravaged his body for 35 years, he never complained. "It is what it is" was his optimistic approach to everyday challenges. \n\nSteve had great taste in both the kitchen and in his style. He was a creative Head Chef and baker in his younger years. He enjoyed art, playing games, and great music. He loved eating and being around people. Wherever Steve went, his infectious smile, friendly nature, and cheerful attitude endeared him to all. His love for Jesus and regular church attendance were integral parts of his life. He leaves a special void at Saint Joseph Village Adult Day Center where he formed cherished friendships. While Steve was a relatively quiet man, the hole in our world is profound. We miss his presence here.\n\nSteven is lovingly remembered by his devoted parents Pastor Phillip and Wendy (Widder) Schrank. Affectionately known as "Biggie", he is also survived by his siblings Stacy (Schrank) and John Boomer as well as COL (Ret.) Jason Schrank and Dr. Susan (Anderson) Schrank. Uncle Steve's memory will continue to be cherished by nieces Johanna (Boomer) Livingston, Sarah (Sobye) Schrank, Tsion Boomer, Yordanos Schrank, Ruth Boomer and Fortuna Schrank, nephews Josiah Boomer, Phillip Schrank, Jazz Livingston, Michael Gesese, Andrew Schrank, Joel Boomer, Abraham Boomer, Mintesinote Boomer, and Girma Schrank. He is adored by great-niece Layla Boomer and his great-nephews Ryker Boomer and Zayden Livingston. They, along with many others touched by Steven, will remember him for his smile, sweet demeanor and chuckle. Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Alice (Loose) Schrank as well as Reno and Audrey (Kolb) Widder.\n\nSteven's family invite you to the visitation at Faith Community Church, 212 W Mc Kimmy St., Davis, Illinois, 61019, on Thursday, February 8, 2024, starting at 10:00 am CST.
