Thomas W. Leith, 76, of Lake Summerset passed away at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 in his home after a lengthy illness. Born August 10, 1937 in Mason City, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Mary (Siessger) Leith. Lived 7 years in Lake Summerset coming here from Glen Ellyn. Married to the former JoAnn Westendorf in Holy Trinity Church, Westmont, on February 11, 1961. Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving the U.S. Navy. Member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Durand, The Elites Motorcycle club serving as president, and many other motorcycle clubs. He traveled through all the continental U.S. and Canada over the years with his many motorcycle clubs. Involved in many Lake Summerset groups and activities. Enjoyed bowling throughout the years, and proud of having accomplished bowling a 300 game. Graduate of Lane Tech High School, Chicago.\r\r\n\r\r\nSurvivors include wife, JoAnn Leith of Lake Summerset; daughters, Elizabeth (Jim) Bicek of West Chicago, and Christina Leith of Carol Stream; sons, Thomas M. (Lisa) Leith of Carpentersville, and Timothy (Chris) Leith of Boiling Brook; grandchildren, Jaclyn (Jim), Jeffrey, Justin, Alaina, Savanna, Riley, Matthew, Tiffany, Stephanie, Robert, Nicholas; great grandchild, Brianna; and sister, Marilyn McGuire. \r\r\n\r\r\nMemorial mass at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 602 W. Main Street, Durand, \r\r\n\r\r\nwith Msgr. Eric Barr officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street Durand. Memorials may be given to Northern Illinois Hospice.
