Virginia Lee (Reber) Arnold, 94 , passed away November 3, 2023 in Racine, Wisconsin. Born in Rockford, Illinois on December 24, 1928, she grew up in Winnebago, Illinois where her family resided on Elida Street for many years. “Ginny,” as known by family and friends, graduated from Winnebago High School in 1946. She attended Colorado State College of Education (now University of Northern Colorado) in Greeley, Colorado where she met her husband, Joseph P. Arnold, of Ft. Dodge, Iowa. They wed at St. Mary’s Church in Rockford, Illinois in 1948. \n\nShe continued her education at various universities throughout the Midwest. Ginny was known for her love of family, friends, work and travel. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago and the United Methodist Church in Arlington, IL. where she enjoyed being a member of the women’s circle and loved participating in their many activities to help those in need in the community. She worked in the banking industry for many years, both in Miami, Florida as secretary and loan officer for Pan American Bank, and in Chicago at the U.S. League of Savings Associations as Executive Secretary to the Vice-President. She then went on to work at Smith Bucklin Association Management and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.\n\nGinny was preceded in death by her mother Vera Eleonora Leyh Reber Menne (Carroll), father Herbert Franklyn Reber and brother Herbert Ronald Reber (Betty Haile). She is survived by her two daughters Judith Lynn Arnold Rose (Robert) of Key Largo, FL and Jody Jean Arnold Kardos of Racine, WI; granddaughter Jessica Louise Kardos of Dania Beach, FL.; grandson Jason Daniel Kardos of Orlando, FL; great-grandsons Stephan Michael Kardos and Daniel James Kardos (Evon Kardos), William Joseph Kardos and Christopher Jason Kardos (Tierra Kardos), Caleb Joshua Kardos (Kimberly Tadle Ligutom-Kardos) and many other cherished relatives. She will be dearly remembered and missed by all.\n\nA funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at McCorkle Funeral Home - Pecatonica Chapel, 203 W. Fifth Street, Pecatonica, IL with Pastor Phillip Thompson of Middle Creek Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial to be in Winnebago Cemetery, Winnebago, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, Saturday.
