Vito “Bill” Zotto, 91, of Lake Summerset, IL for 19 years and formerly of Westchester, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 5:48 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at Medina Manor.\r\n\r\nBeloved husband for 63 years of Patricia (nee Lala); loving father of Michelle (Gary) Thiede, Jackie Zotto O’Malley, Beth (Gary) Ferrari, Vicki (Chris Reich) Unterberg and Michael Zotto; cherished grandfather of 17 and “grandpa-great” of 14; dear brother of Lucy (the late Robert) Salvatore and brother-in-law of Violet (the late Carmen) Presco; preceded in death by his sisters Jane (Robert Varner) Corry, Pat (Blaine) Ramsey, and Bert (Earl) Corry. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends, especially his dear friend, Dan Capenigro.\r\n\r\nVito served in the Navy as a Seabee during WWII. He was a transmission specialist for Oldsmobile for several years until he became the much loved owner of Vito’s Standard Service in Bellwood for 20 years and then a machinist for Mako-Tek Corp where he retired after 18 years. He and Pat retired to Lake Summerset, where he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed bocci, bowling, playing cards and boating.\r\n\r\nWords cannot express what this man meant to our family and the impact he had on so many. He was humble, caring, fun loving and generous to a fault. We have been truly blessed to have him in our lives.\r\n\r\nA Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 606 W Main Street, Durand, IL. Inurnment will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Durand, IL. McCorkle Funeral Home – Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL assisted the family.\r\n\r\nA special thank you to the staff at Medina Manor and Agrace Hospice for their care and support.\r\n\r\nThe family requests no flowers.
