Weyburn L. Kelsey Obituary (1936 - 2016)

Weyburn L. Kelsey, 80, Davis, IL, peacefully passed away into his eternal home at 12:29 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 24, 1936 in Clinton, WI, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd and Margaret (Hogan) Kelsey. Graduated from Durand High School, Class of 1955. Married the former Carol E. Whisman in Durand, IL on September 14, 1958. He farmed his entire life. Veteran of the US Air Force, serving during peace time. Member of Faith Community Church, Davis, IL and Winnebago County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed spending time, working with and helping family and friends, dancing, playing cards and riding his bike in Florida. Survivors include wife, Carol Kelsey, Davis, IL; son, Dale Kelsey, Pecatonica, IL; daughters, Polly (Ray Hutchison) Kelsey, Milledgeville, IL and Becky (Ken) Brubaker, Davis, IL; son, Mark (Stacey) Kelsey, Davis, IL; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Cooper, Lake Summerset, IL, Shirley Sweet, Durand, IL, Kathy Whitehouse, New Lisbon, WI and Sally (Bill) Lawson, Durand, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Phil Kelsey. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Faith Community Church, 212 W McKimmy, Davis, IL with Pastor Bob Kolb officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31. Burial will be in Howard Union Cemetery, Durand, IL. McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL assisted the family. A memorial will be established
