William Giles Elliott, 77, Pecatonica, Illinois died at 10:55 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 31, 1933 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. and Mildred M. (Kappeman) Elliott. Married to the former Sandra EnetteTallakeson in Pecatonica, Illinois on April 12, 1958. Bill worked as a service technician for Borroughs/Unisys for 32 years and also farmed with his son Craig since 1968. Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pecatonica; American Legion Eugene J. Barloga Post #197; VFW Donald Lorraine Tarbet Post #8416 and the RV Club. Bill enjoyed wintering in Arizona. Graduated for Pecatonica High School, Class of 1951. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife – Sandra,Pecatonica, Illinois; daughter Joy (Richard) Rose,Montreal Quebec; sons Craig (Brenda) Elliott and Richard Elliott both of Pecatonica, Illinois; grandson Ethan Elliott; great grandson Julian Elliott; sister Carol Meyers, Pecatonica, Illinois and sister- in- law Sandra Elliott, Rock City, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert, two infant siblings Margaret Mary and Bruce and one brother John. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 126 W Fifth Street, Pecatonica, with Fr. Robert Sweeney officiating. Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Pecatonica, Illinois. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 203 West 5th St. Pecatonica, Illinois from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday with a rosary to be recited at 7:45 p.m. Memorials may be given to the St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund, 126 W Fifth St. Pecatonica, IL 61063 and/or to American Legion Eugene J.
