Bill Kurtenbach

William M. "Bill" Kurtenbach, 78, Rockton, IL died Tuesday, January 9, 2024 in UW Health -Swedish American Hospital after a brief illness. Bill was born August 7, 1945 in Urbana, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Miles E. and Grace G. (Wright) Kurtenbach. Graduated from Belvidere High School. Bill enlisted in the Illinois National Guard. He worked as an operating engineer for Local #150 for over 25 years. Bill enjoyed being a member of various gun clubs. He enjoyed hunting and watching old western movies.

Survivors include brother Kenneth Kurtenbach; sister Ruth Beu; sister-in-law Karen Kurtenbach; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, brother Miles E. Kurtenbach, Jr.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 20, 2024 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. Burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford, IL. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of ceremony on Saturday.
