William “Bill” L. Peters, 79, died at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in Rockton, Illinois at Willowfield Nursing and Rehab Center surrounded by his loving family. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born May 9, 1930, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. William and Anna Peters. He lived 41 years in Rockton, Illinois coming here from New London, Wisconsin. Married to Virginia M. Marcks, in Waupaca, Wisconsin on January 31, 1968. He was employed as a plumber and pipefitter by Ingersoll Manufacturing for 20 plus years. Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife Virginia (Marcks) Peters, Rockton, Illinois; sons Raymond A. (Becky) McClone, Rockton, Illinois and Robert (Cyndie) McClone, Roscoe, Illinois; daughter, Debra Lowery, Rockton, Illinois; son John (Debra) Peters, Roscoe, Illinois; daughter, Mary (Bernie) Geyer, Rockton, Illinois;, grandchildren Bernie, Max, Matthew, Macy Geyer, Jennifer, Mary McClone, Jason, Jamie, Jackie Lowery, Devin, Makensi, and Branden Peters and one great-grand child on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents. \r\r\n\r\r\n Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, Illinois with Rev. Dan Herman pastor of Old Stone United Church of Christ officiating. Visitation services will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. \r\r\n\r\r\n Memorial is being established.
